Addressing Barriers to Intellectual Property Commercialization
The Conference will introduce new mechanisms under the 2025 amendments to the Intellectual Property Law concerning the use of intellectual property assets in transactions, capital contributions, and collateral arrangements. Discussions will also address practical challenges related to IP valuation, exploitation, and commercialization.
Presentations are expected to explore technology transfer models and the establishment of spin-off enterprises from universities and research institutes, while examining the role of intellectual property valuation in attracting venture capital investment for technology projects.
A key highlight will be the panel discussion “Overcoming Barriers to Technology Commercialization: From Laboratories to the Market Ecosystem”, bringing together policymakers, researchers, enterprises, and investors to identify practical challenges and explore solutions for bringing patents and research outcomes into commercial applications.
Connecting Research Outcomes with Enterprises' Technology Needs
One of the Conference's notable activities will be the planned announcement of a portfolio of research outcomes and patents ready for commercialization, alongside the introduction of a channel for collecting enterprises' technology needs. This initiative aims to lay the groundwork for further networking and cooperation activities following TECHFEST Vietnam 2026.
The Conference is expected to bring together representatives from government agencies, universities, research institutes, patent-holding researchers, enterprises seeking technological advancement, and innovative startups. Through presentations, panel discussions, and exchanges, participants will have opportunities to identify potential partners for technology transfer, intellectual property exploitation, and commercialization.
By combining policy discussions with technology supply-and-demand connections, the Conference seeks to address barriers to intellectual property commercialization, accelerate the market application of research outcomes, and strengthen collaboration among research institutes, universities, and enterprises.
