Identifying Needs and Selecting Suitable Solutions
Preparations for TECHFEST include collecting practical challenges, technology needs and registrations from local authorities and organisations. Based on this information, organisers will select solutions and connect organisations seeking technology with startups and investors before the event. Local authorities will identify problems and technology needs related to economic and social development. Businesses will share needs arising from their operations and help identify suitable solutions. Clearly defined needs will give both sides a basis for discussing whether a technology can meet their requirements and how they could work together. Innovative startups will contribute products, solutions and the ability to put them into use. Research institutes and universities will provide technologies, inventions and research results with potential practical uses. Connections among these groups aim to bring research closer to users and create opportunities for testing, technology transfer and market development. Under the plan, the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises will lead the collection of registrations, challenges, technology solutions and connection results. It will work with the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology and relevant organisations to guide the selection, placement and support of event participants.
Connecting Partners and Following Up on Cooperation
Exhibitions, conferences, workshops and investment networking sessions will allow local authorities and businesses to meet solution providers. Product presentations and technology demonstrations will help participants explore practical uses, discuss requirements and consider opportunities for cooperation. The exhibition is expected to include a “34 Localities – 34 Challenges” zone, where provinces and cities will present practical challenges and connect with startups offering solutions for technology transfer. A “Present Challenges and Test Solutions” participation option will also allow organisations to share their technology needs and select startups to test proposed solutions. Investment networking sessions will provide additional opportunities for startups to access funding. Discussions among startups, potential technology users and investors aim to create partnerships based on practical needs, the ability to deliver solutions and market demand. The plan also calls for cooperation outcomes and investment commitments already agreed upon by the parties to be selected for announcement at TECHFEST. Their implementation will continue to be followed up after the event, helping turn connections into concrete next steps. By starting with practical needs, TECHFEST Vietnam 2026 aims to support cooperation, investment, testing and the use of technology in the market. These activities will help innovative startups develop products and reach more customers.
