Strengthening the Roles of Stakeholders in the Innovative Startup Ecosystem
One of the key objectives of TECHFEST Vietnam 2026 is to mobilize resources and enhance the participation of stakeholders across the innovative startup ecosystem, including government agencies, local authorities, businesses, research institutes, universities, investors, and startup support organizations. Government agencies play a key role in providing strategic direction, coordinating activities, and facilitating access to resources. The Ministry of Science and Technology is responsible for developing the overall program framework and professional activities, while the Hanoi People's Committee coordinates implementation and ensures the necessary venues, infrastructure, and event arrangements. The Department of Entrepreneurship and Technology Enterprises, in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology and relevant organizations, coordinates the collection of participation registrations, practical challenges, and technological solutions, while facilitating connections among stakeholders. Local authorities participate by presenting innovative startup achievements and models, identifying practical challenges, and determining technology adoption needs. Under the plan, activities aimed at connecting local innovation demands, including the "34 Localities – 34 Challenges" initiative, are intended to provide opportunities for innovative startups and research teams to propose solutions addressing local socio-economic development needs. For the business community, TECHFEST Vietnam 2026 offers opportunities to showcase products and technological solutions, identify potential partners, and access investment resources. In addition to innovative startups directly developing products and technologies, established enterprises and technology corporations may participate as partners in technology adoption, testing, transfer, and market development. Research institutes and universities contribute scientific knowledge, research personnel, research outcomes, and technological solutions with potential for practical application. Through technology showcases, technology supply-demand matchmaking, and business partnerships, research institutions can better understand market needs and explore opportunities for technology development, testing, transfer, and commercialization. Under the Master Plan, the Ministry of Education and Training is responsible for coordinating the participation of higher education institutions, scientists, lecturers, and students in relevant activities. Meanwhile, investment funds, financial institutions, and startup support organizations help connect startups with capital, expertise, and markets. Through networking, investment matchmaking, and business cooperation activities, investors can explore business models and assess enterprises' growth potential, while innovative startups gain opportunities to access resources for product development and business expansion.
Linking Networking Activities with Practical Needs and Cooperation Outcomes
According to the Master Plan, TECHFEST Vietnam 2026 is expected to feature several major activities, including the National Policy Forum on International Cooperation and Innovative Startup Investment; an exhibition of innovative startup products and services from Vietnam and abroad; the Final Round of the National Innovative Startup Talent Competition; as well as thematic conferences, seminars, and investment matchmaking activities. In particular, activities focusing on intellectual property market development, commercialization of research outcomes, value chain connectivity, and investment cooperation are expected to strengthen collaboration among research institutions, businesses, and investors. Integrating professional activities with exhibition and product showcase spaces will enable participants to exchange information directly on technology needs, potential applications, cooperation models, and market opportunities. Notably, networking and matchmaking activities are planned to begin during the event preparation phase through the collection of practical challenges, technology demands, and participation registrations from local authorities, enterprises, and organizations. Based on this information, the organizers will consolidate relevant proposals, select suitable solutions, and connect them with identified needs, laying the groundwork for cooperation, technology testing, and investment. The Master Plan also calls for the consolidation and selection of cooperation outcomes and investment commitments agreed upon by the participating parties for announcement at TECHFEST, followed by continued monitoring and facilitation after the event. This approach aims to improve the effectiveness of networking activities by linking discussions and exchanges with concrete outcomes that can be further developed in practice. Through the participation and collaboration of stakeholders, TECHFEST Vietnam 2026 aims to generate new opportunities for research cooperation, technology application, investment partnerships, and market expansion. The event is therefore expected to contribute to the development of innovative startups, more effective resource mobilization, and stronger connectivity within Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem.
